‚...... from the first tone until the final chord the audience was captured under an outstanding force of his technical skills and his natural instinct for the music.’ -Die Neue Musik Zeitung German Violinist Felix Froschhammer captivates the audience with his diverse abilities at the violin. Appointed as the first concertmaster of Neuchâtel Symphony (Switzerland) in 2010, Froschhammer is active also as a soloist, chamber musicians as well as his important role in the group Tri i Dve - an ensemble specializing in the Balkan music. Previous engagements include appearance in Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Bodensee Festival, Cully Classique Festival as well as performances on world renowned stages in Shanghai, Bangkok, Moscow, Singapore, Milano and Paris. Felix’s performances have been broadcasted on Bayrischer Rundfunk, Radio Suisse Romande Espace 2, France 2 as well as on Arte TV. Felix’s orchestra debut was made at the age of 10 with Münchner Rundfunkorchester. In 2002 he received a prestigious scholarship ‚Bayerischer Musikfonds’ which allowed him to study with Pierre Amoyal at Conservatoire de Lausanne. He graduated with highest honors in 2007 and later received the special prize from Sinfonietta de Lausanne for his achievement at the violin. He won with the Duo Froschhammer the only prize at the International Wolfgang Jacobi Competition for Chamber Music of the 20th century music. As one of the leading member of Camerata de Lausanne, a chamber ensemble founded by Pierre Amoyal, Felix has toured in Europe, Asia and in Russia . Along side P. Amoyal, Felix was a soloist in the Vivaldi and Bach double Concertos on various tours.
Felix was born in 1984 and began playing the violin at the age of seven with Olga Voitova. His teachers include Pierre Amoyal and Salvatore Accardo. He has participated in masterclasses with Aaron Rosand, Josef Markl, Boris Kuschnir, Eduard Schmieder and many others.
Various CD recordings of Felix has been released under Tokyo Camerata Label for Camerata de Lausanne (2004), Vocation Records for Tri i Dve and Trio Sonaare. Most recently duo works for violin and cello will be released under ArcoDiva label.
